Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPD’s 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisation’s 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

We wish you all the best too Mia as you head back to Ireland soon for the Irish Championships! And a special shout out to Owen for singing to our kindergarten students…. I am Australian and The Rattlin' Bog…. So much fun!

Today marks Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. This morning, our school joined the Parish for Mass, where we received the sign of the cross with ashes on our foreheads. Lent is a time to renew and strengthen our relationship with God through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. A key symbol of this season is the Cross. The wooden crosses in each of our newly refurbished classrooms are handmade in Ukraine, serving as a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and His mission of peace in the world.
